Circuit Training

What is circuit training?

Circuit training is the combination of strength and cardio exercises, repeated two to three times with little or no rest in between. Exercises are organized in a circuit with multiple stations, and each station has a different exercise that targets a specific group of muscles. Examples of equipment at stations include jump rope, dumbbells, medicine balls, physioballs, and weight training machines. By allowing only a short rest interval of 30 to 90 seconds between stations, cardiovascular fitness is gained along with the benefits of resistance training. By going through every station, you experience a total body workout.
